Surprise!

I have this friend. Her name is Monica. And I love her to pieces. You see, we've been friends for a short period of time. I suppose it's been about a month now. But what you must understand is...we're kindred spirits. Our spirits recognized eachother from before this life and now we're making up for lost time. Well, we were, before she left me for St. George. Just as we were becoming great friends, she decides she needs to move home for the summer. But, we've planned a few adventures for this summer, one of which is flying to Portland, OR for my brother's graduation. Anywho...this lovely friend of mine just happened to surprise me tonight. I was just working, minding my own business, when up walks her mom and sister. I'm like, "What are you doing here??? Is Monica with you?" Her mom can't lie and she's like, "Um...we're just here to buy some rolls." Right...you drove 3 1/2 hours to by some rolls? I couldn't concentrate on anything until I found the famous lady. And then, there she was...Monica Jones! The one and only. I love this dear friend of mine.

The ending peak

Sista Draper was the ending peak of my mission. My mission peaked in the beginning, and peaked in the end. I didn't think I would ever have quite as much fun as I had had my first few transfers. But, I was wrong. Sista Draper came along and helped me go out with a BANG. I love having her home.

I love having Lacey Jean around too. Who else could pull off those red spandex??? Gotta love out-doors adventures. :)

As single as they come: Part 2

Boys are dumb. When you want them, they don't want you. When they want you, you don't want them. So, I have embraced singlehood.

1. I'm making a quilt out of my mission t-shirts
2. I'm picking up cross stitch
3. I go wherever I want whenever I want...road trips are awesome
4. I'm meeting tons of new people
5. I've discovered I love working out; it's one of my weekly hobbies
6. I'm reading a new book every 2 to 3 weeks
7. I changed my major...just because I can, and the new one makes me more excited:Journalism!
8. When I'm done with college, I'm moving to Nashville to pursue a singing/songwriting career. I don't care if it's un-realistic, it's what I want, and I'm single.
9. I've realized I'm not desperate...I won't just settle. I didn't want to kiss that guy...so I didn't. He was goodlooking and all...but not the guy for me. Yay.

Becca's married!

Alright alright, these pictures are horrible. I'm aware. But I got there and realized I had left my camera at home...so luckily we live in the time era we do, and cell phones can be used as back up. Anyway, Rebecca Joy Falke is no longer Rebecca Joy Falke. I saw that girl for the last time this morning. She is now known as Rebecca Joy Sommers! :) What a beautiful, tender day it was. I bawled through the sealing
(not too unusual for me) but for some reason Becca's sealing was extra special for me. Becca symbolizes everything I want. No, she is not a perfect person. I lived with her for 5 semesters...believe me, I know. ;) But she's MUCH closer to perfection that I am...that is for DEFINITE sure. We were eachothers first real, long lasting college friendship. Neither one of us had dated much in highschool,
and never had a boyfriend. College progressed, and we still found ourselves in the same group...the VL group...if you don't know what that is, well, maybe you don't deserve to know. :) Anywho, life went on and I'll admit, I probably dated more than she did...had a few more flings I should say. But you see, Becca's a special lady.
I KNEW that when the day came, a "close-to-perfection" man would spot Becca and see the spectacular diamond that she is. Well, I was right. Rob Sommers is soooo in love with Becca, it's unbelievable. As I watched her during the father/daughter dance, and then the dance with Rob, I couldn't help but bawl again. Graduated from college, 24, never really had a boyfriend, followed the Spirit after
college, not really knowing what to do in life, she decided to move to Texas to work for her brother and build a life for herself. And then, who came along? Her eternal companion. This is what I want. This is what I hope for. I want to love life, and have people know I love life when they see me, like Becca. And then, while I'm happy and content with my life, I hope to find my eternal companion. What an inspiration this chick is to me.

I love her to pieces!

What does this mean?

Boy-"So, I like you. I think you're pretty. I really think we should just take things slow and steady though."
Girl-"Me too, definately slow."
Boy-"I'm really nervous right now."
Girl-"Why?"
Boy-"Because I really want to kiss you right now."

Um...is there a new definition for "slow" that I'm not aware of?

Disney

I'm just a little disappointed. Let's face it; I grew up on television. Yeah, I played outside as a kid, took music lessons, yada yada yada...but I always loved T.V. and my family always had cable. Yes, I was a priveleged child...or spoiled, however you want to look at it.

The Disney channel was the "it" channel in my home. We LOVED it. I mean, come on...feel good shows with NO commercials. It was amazing! Here are a list of the old shows we were so in love with.

*Micky Mouse Club (M-I-C "C" ya real soon, K-E-Y "Y?" Because we like you, M-O-U-S-E!)
*Road to Avonlea
*Adventures in Wonderland
*Ready or Not
*Torkelsons
*Ocean Girl
*Donald's Quack Attack
*Under the Umbrella Tree (my guilty pleasure for a LONG time...three mupets and a real woman)
*Kids Incorperated

Now, not only are they LAME shows...but there are commercials! Ugh. Here's what the years 2000 and on brought us.

*Even Stevens (the only good one!)
*Lizzie McGuire
*That's so Raven
*Hannah Montana
*Jonas
And whatever else there is...I'm just not as up on Disney because they all bore me to tears.

Also...remember back in the day when a new Disney movie would come out every year? I looked forward to that every year...and kids these days are getting jipped. Sure, there's the DreamWorks stuff...not bad, but what about good ole fashion Disney? Beauty and the Beast, Aladin, The Little Mermaid, Lion King, Lady and the Tramp...man, I miss the stuff you could sing along with. I feel bad for my future kids.
